Quality Policy

We deliver safe, functional and durable buildings with the scope, schedule and quality we have committed to.

Purpose

This policy sets out how Çelik İnşaat assures the quality of the buildings it designs, builds and delivers. We treat quality as the sum of design, material selection and construction decisions; the quality of a building begins not at handover but with the first design decision.

Scope

All of our real estate development, construction contracting, and engineering and project management activities; the design, procurement, construction, commissioning and (depending on the scope of our work) operation and maintenance phases; all of our construction sites and offices. Work and materials produced by our suppliers and subcontractors are also subject to the criteria of this policy.

Our principles

7 principles
  1. 01

    Compliance with legislation and standards

We comply with zoning and building legislation, the Turkish Building Earthquake Code, construction products legislation and building inspection rules, and treat the client’s technical specifications and contract requirements as the minimum standard. We apply national and international standards according to the intended use of each project.

  2. 02

    Aligning design with construction

We develop architectural and engineering designs with structural safety, functionality and user comfort in mind together. We complete interdisciplinary coordination at the design stage, record changes and transfer them to the site in a controlled way.

  3. 03

    Materials and equipment

We select construction materials on the basis of conformity documents (CE or G marking, declaration of performance, test report) and specification requirements. We inspect materials on delivery to site and store them under suitable conditions.

  4. 04

    Construction control

Every project runs on a quality control plan with a defined schedule of inspections and tests. We do not move on to the next work item until nonconformities are corrected. Critical works such as foundations, the structural system, waterproofing, and mechanical and electrical installations are checked separately at every stage.

  5. 05

    Handover and aftercare

We hand over buildings with commissioning tests completed, together with operation and maintenance information. We remedy defects reported during the warranty period in accordance with the contract and legislation.

  6. 06

    Client relations and feedback

We keep our clients and home buyers informed openly and accurately throughout the project, and comply with consumer legislation in home sales. We take complaints seriously and respond to them; we feed feedback into the design and construction decisions of future projects.

  7. 07

    Competence and continuous improvement

We develop the technical competence of our teams through training and site experience. We carry the construction and design lessons of each project forward to the next.

Responsibilities

Company management is responsible for providing resources for quality and monitoring implementation; the project manager and site manager for applying the project’s quality control plan; and every engineer, foreman and tradesperson on site for building to specification and reporting nonconformities. Design teams are responsible for answering questions that arise during construction in a timely manner.

Implementation and review

This policy is implemented through each project’s quality control plan and its schedule of inspections and tests; post-handover defect reports and client feedback are used to improve quality.
